Lately, I’ve been journeying into the world of archives with my multidimensional shovel to dig deeper into the realms of matriarchal societies, indigenous frameworks, & nature as business blueprints.
There is much more to be experience in this space but I want to share some musings along the journey around what I’ve been feeling into. To connect the dots and receive the medicine of these frameworks and blueprints, it takes a nuanced approach of willingness to become the listener & observer. I’m finding the fruits of this intentional labor to be a quite nourishing venture, that I have no idea exactly where it’s taking me but we’re having fun!
Women in our natural essence of creating, birthing, & sharing brings balance & alignment in order to collectively build regenerative economies.
Overtime, we have lost touch with this way, yet it has always existed.
Here’s an example from Haitian culture & spirituality that reflects this
Kouzin, is the feminine counterpart to Azaka (the lwa/god of agriculture or peasant farmers). Her characteristics are similar to that of a machann (merchant woman) who is known for her loud voice and bargaining skills.
In Haitian households, women are usually the ones to deal with money. In this case Kouzin, handles the money transactions for Azaka & the home.
The significance of this pair, Azaka and Kouzin, is the balance between the masculine as a farmer and feminine as a merchant. In this partnership, Azaka harvests the food and Kouzin is in charge of selling it at the market.
Matriarchal societies were not about women only, or forget the men.
They were about the harmony of the community. Bringing the feminine gifts of deeply guided knowing to work with the masculine to execute on this harmony together.
When we are cultivating our own businesses and creative projects, it will only benefit us to find this internal harmony of our own masculine and feminine energies, our inner Kouzin & Azaka flow. When is it time to step back and incubate in our intuitive, protective, nurturing and slower space and when is it time to strategize, be more logistical, push out and share?
These natural cycles of eb and flow are needed at different times. The communion of this sacred dance is what will allow things to flow more naturally when we are working with collaborators.
When we zoom out from the distorted lenses of current societal ways, with love, we can begin to zoom into a greater remembrance of a more expansive way of creating.
Let us come back into harmony with this sacred dance🪞
